The NFL Week 7 Recap

The NY Giants have silenced some critics by defeating the Dallas Cowboys and staking claim to the NFC East lead 36-22 on Monday night. Tiki Barber rushed for 114 yards and Plaxico Burress caught 2 passes for 94 yards.

The Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Carolina Panthers in a virtual must win game early in the year 17-14. Carson Palmer threw for 240 yards, and Rudi Johnson rushed for 101 yards, and the Bengal D stepped it up in the 2nd half, not allowing a point. The win moves Cincy into a 1st place tie at 4-2 with Baltimore who had a bye, and a full 2 games in front of defending world champ Pittsburgh who lost to Atlanta in a wild shootout 41-38, while Vick threw for 4 touchdowns.

The Cleveland Browns lost to 5-1 Denver 17-7 to fall to 1-5 on the year. The Browns say they had numerous chances to win this one, but couldn't seem to pull any together. Actually noone had against the Broncos this year.

The Oakland Raiders celebrated their first win of the season, dominating suprisingly overmatched Arizona 22-9. I think the Cards still had a hangover from the Monday night debacle against the Chicago Bears. The NY Jets are suprising the football world right now at 4-3 on the year, by defeating the Detroit Lions 31-24.

KC stepped up after a devastating loss to Pittsburgh last week, by knocking off division rival San Diego 30-27, and suprising as it was, still without Trent Green. Larry Johnson rushed for 138 yards, and Huard threw for 232 yards and 2 scores.

Tampa Bay sent Philly to its second straight defeat 23-21 after a 62 yard field goal by Bryant sailed threw the uprights in the final seconds shocking the Eagle fans and sending Buc fans and coached into a state of euphoria. Seattle was blown out by Minnesota 31-13, and they need a healthy Shaun Alexander to go anywhere.

So after 3 weeks of this NFL season, here are the top and bottom 3:

TOP 3

#1 Indianaplois (6-0) - Whooping Washington was just what they needed after the bye week.

#2 Chicago (6-0) - A bye week, and a little rest never hurts anyone.

#3 New Orleans (5-1) - Like I said, these guys are here, until they prove otherwise. They had a bye.

BOTTOM 3

#30 Cleveland (1-5) - When is this team going to give up moral victories, and really win some games?

#31 Oakland (1-5) - They beat Arizona, but lost to Cleveland, so they are here.

#32 Arizona (1-6) - Losing to Oakland definately keeps you here.

There are plenty of things I can sit here and talk about, but I will throw some opinionated facts out there.

- The Cincinnati Bengals are right where they need to be at this point in the year, in the division lead, and in front of Pittsburgh.

- Ok, so the Baltimore Ravens are 4-2. I said the same thing 2 weeks ago when they were 4-0, and that is: They arent very good. Give it up Raven fans, they arent going to out run Cincy for the Div Title.

- Pittsburgh will not make the playoffs. I stand by the statement, and always will. Its not that I dislike the Steelers, its that, they really arent that good!

- The Chicago Bears are going to eventually lose this season, and it may not happen until the SuperBowl is upon us.
