Mike Tyson World Tour

As we made our way to the arena, the Chevy Centre in Youngstown, Ohio, we got lost a few times, had to turn aound because we forgot some documentation, and thought we were extremely late for the undercard. But as we got to our seats at ringside we realized that the 1st fight had just started, and we sat back and watched the ring girls hold the round signs up.

After a few short naps and just a few pictures taken of the undercard fights, the unthinkable happened. The batteries in my digital camera died. Ouch. So, I searched frantically, for someone that may have had a couple AA batteries on their person, and nobody did. So I walked back by the dressing room, and ran into one of the payperview camera men, and asked him real quick, and he said YES! What a lifesaver, just as Tyson was getting ready to be announced I got 2 batterys from a very unlikely source.

Everyone knew going into this fight that it was an exhibition. I didnt care, I just wanted to see the man. His opponent, Corey Sanders was introduced and walked out with headgear on. That was a little suprising, but then when I thought about it. This is Tyson World Tour, and Sanders does know his place in this show. As the fight started, Tyson came out with a flurry of punches, and floored Sanders within 10 seconds. Then it started to get a little, well, unrealistic.

Tyson then staggered the big man (Sanders was 6'7" 292 pounds of fighter), and before he could fall, wrapped his arms around him to prevent that from happening. Well, this went on for the remainder of the fight, much to the chagrin of most fans there. Chants of obscenities were roaring through the arena, and yson thanked the crowd at the end, did a few interviews, and split.

I did get a chance to chill in the dressing room. Tyson's had a 90 inch widescreen TV, and suede couches, and leather massage tables, not to mention alot of Aquafina.

So all in all, the spectacle was great, seeing the man was great, the exhibition was a little staged but what do you expect. The crowd obviously bought into the wrong idea here, and expected more of a fight, blood and tears, but that didnt happen, and it probably wont for the rest of the tour.
