Mike Tyson World Tour

Joshua B Huber (joshua.huber@sseonline.org)             10/20/2006
SSEOnline.org President and Senior Writer

Mike Tyson: "I'm happy to be here, starting my world tour in Youngstown. It's been a little nerve-racking, but I'm ready to get it started. I'm a little nervous. The people here have been great. I lived approximately 18 miles from here. I'm sure this will be entertaining. I expect to have some fun. Bigger things (on the world tour) are down the road, places like Australia, China and possibly Dubai. I'm doing these exhibitions for charity. I'm retired; no way I'm fighting again. I began training to get in shape and it just snowballed. I wanted to do something for charity and here we are."

The Mike Tyson World Tour starts at the Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio tonight, as Tyson takes on long-time friend and sparring partney Corey Sanders Jr. in an exhibition match, the main event of several sanctioned official fights this evening. The undercard is a bunch of contenders, just trying to battle their ways up the charts. Future Tour cards may include Tyson fighting boxings best women fighters in exhibitions. He says "Its always a possibility, and whe are looking into it."

The first stop of "Mike Tyson's World Tour" in Youngstown will be broadcast LIVE in North America on Cable and Satellite PAY-PER-VIEW for only $29.95 beginning at 10:30 pm ET/7:30 pm PT October 20th. Tickets, affordably priced at $25, $50, $100, and $200, are available at the Chevrolet Centre Box Office (330.746.5600) or at Gettix outlets (including online). Doors open at 7pm ET and the first non-televised bout is at 8pm.
