State of the Big Ten Address 2.0

While most of the sports websites have the Big Ten pegged for 5 teams now, we here at SSE are still unsatisfied.  Being from the Midwest and mostly exposed to the regional action of the Big Ten, Big East, and Atlantic 10 conferences, we have a reason and a right to be biased (uh-hmm Dickie V and the ACC)

Final Note on World Series & 2006

If it were completely up to my thinking, the year of 2006 has been, well, pretty uneventful.  The St. Louis Cardinals have, well, should I say “outlasted” the rest of major league baseball.

Concert Series: Speeziepalooza Pt. II Review

A big stand out in my anal retentive opinion was those Dayton boys going by the name of Silk Abrasion.  With searing guitar riffs and chunky bass lines they are sure to leave a permanent scar on the feeble minds and eardrums of the masses.  read more >

Concert Series: Common Enemy

NFL Week 4 Recap

The Cincinnati Bengals lost a tight one to New England 38-13, while the Cleveland Browns gained a game back, dominating Oakland 24-21. Of course, I am just being fesicious, as the Bengals were manhandled in the last 17 minutes of their game against the Patriots, turnovers, and bad field position haunted the Bengals throughout the 2nd half as, NE pulled away for a convincing victory.

Concert Series: WoodShock 2006

What a show it was, speaking of "the shock", Woodshock 2006. I'm going to cut straight to the chase. It has been about a week since the festival ended, and I am just now getting to write about it. I am not going to write about all the bands that performed, or about everything that happened that was important there at Zanes Caverns, in Bellefontaine, Ohio. I will give my top 5 bands of the festival, based solely on their performance at Woodshock, not based on reputation. Then I will finish up with the 2 most overrated bands, or worst there, based on hype and lack of performance.

Random Thoughts (4-5)

Well, yesterday I observed an ebay auction for michigan state - ohio state tickets in which the seller (tammy.h) was asking 325 bucks a pop!! So I honestly asked her 'are you nuts, 325 each?", and she responded with "You obviously don't have the money to go to a game so please keep your comments to yourself and be content to listen to the game on your radio as I bet you don't even own a T.V."

Chicago & Huey Lewis Concert

The only reason this concert was rated a B+ and the sole reason it was not an A is because they played only 1 hit from the 80's. Hard to Say I'm Sorry. The 80's were Chicago's "ballad" years, and thus their top billboard hit singles were produced there. However, I am not totally sure why they didnt perform songs like: "You're The Inspiration"...............

Miami Wins NBA Title!!

As I took my 4th stroke on hole 16 playing Golden Tee Live last night, Dwayne Wade was at the free throw line with 9.1 seconds left in the 4th quarter missing both foul shots that would have iced the title for the Miami Heat. I missed my stroke, and went on to bogey the hole, while Jason Terry missed his last second three to tie the game. The Miami Heat are the NBA's new champion 95-92, as they win the series 4-2, after being down 2-0 and completing one of the greatest turnarounds in Finals history. More
